The PlayStation 5 has been causing a stir for a while now. Sony themselves have done little to confirm or deny rumours – after all, any publicity is good publicity, isn’t it? Having people talk about their products is good for business and why would you want to end talk and speculation.

The most recent speculation comes from someone who predicted the release of other PlayStation consoles, like the PlayStation Slim. This is one reason why we should maybe take him seriously and ask if there is something he knows that we don’t. He thinks the PlayStation Five is going to hit shelves for shoppers in 2018, so much sooner than previously speculated.

Most people still think we are looking at a 2019 or 2020 release date though, which would make more sense in terms of technology. There will be lots more 4k enabled televisions in homes by then, making it more likely that the console will come out then.
