Artificial intelligence, or AI, has so many different uses in the gaming industry. There are many different ways it can be used to improve a gamer’s experience and make games more high tech. Now, though, game developers are using it during the game development process as well.
The step has been taken by video game publishing company Ubisoft, which has started using an AI assistant for its developers. The technology is used to catch bugs before they are committed to the code, meaning that developers’ time will be saved significantly.
It hasn’t been quick or easy to get to this stage. The AI system has been fed around 10 years of code from the Ubisoft software library, which has let the system learn about mistakes that have been made and how they were rectified historically. This means it can flag up areas where gaming code mistakes might be made in future and prevent them from happening.
