Well the main problem with games is that they’re extremely fragile. One scratch can be enough to prevent the game functioning properly, but preowned games in shops have been tested. That may not be enough to give you the confidence you need, but if you think about it, the risk could be worth it.
If you’re purchasing directly from a store you may still be entitled to a guarantee, so there’s no worry there. While rented games are similar, and they continue to work, even when they’ve changed hands many times. If you’re worried about purchasing a pre-owned game then perhaps you shouldn’t be, because you may find that you not only get a working game; you get a cheap price too!
